Dear sirs, ive read advantages and disadvantages of synthetic and badger brushes. i mostly focus on bacteria production on badger and polymer tips of synthetic... Both can be harmful. My question is a little specific. i already have simpson persian jar 2 super and simpson colonel ehsan super... and exclusively face lather if i turn into plisson synthetic, would i loose something in performance and feel at face? Regards
If you face lather I would recommend a Mühle V2 STF (Synthetic) over a Plisson. It has more backbone, surface area (using a 23 or 25 mm knot) and is soft at the tips. Comparisons to Naturals are on this page. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/synthetic-brush-synopsis-generations-updated.33577/ More clarification is found here. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/the-four-generations-of-synthetic-fibers-clarifications.37568/
I have a Muhle Black Fiber. Excellent. One of the benefits of synthetics is their vast efficiency. They will use much less product and produce the same amount of lather as naturals. I estimate I am only using 1/3-1/2 of the product I was using with a Semogue 830 and Omega 10810. They dry extremely fast too. Just rub it on a towel and it will almost feel like the second before you used it. It can't be good for hygine that naturals take 8+ hours to dry.
