So I went perusing my local antique store and they had a Gillette Red Tip in excellent condition in a matching plastic case for $22.50. I'm not sure if that's a good price or not, so I figured I would ask you folks and see. I didn't get the serial on it, so general info on it will be helpful.
Good condition with original case? Yeah that's a good price. Great shaver. A bit more aggressive than a regular superspeed.
It was really in great condition. I'm sure it will be there on Friday. This was in a tiny shop in a town of about 100 people. I also saw a GEM single edge as well at the same shop and an Ever Ready brush in the original package. They wanted $13.50 for the brush though, so I will probably pass on that.
Don't be surprised if it's gone. I can't count how many times I said "Ah, it'll still be here" and...
I can tell youthat a month ago there was an Antique shop in North Texas that had one for $26 and it had corrosion on it. Fairly good shape but needed work. No case. So as others have said, you better go get it before it is gone.
Haha. I won't be able to get back out there until Friday one way or the other. I'm sure I will be posting pictures on Friday of my new purchase. Should have my 65' 3 piece in by that time too. I will have gone from none to 2 in the period of a week. Anyone know anyway I can inject shave soap directly in the veins to avoid all of this chatter on the forums? Just kidding guys. I do appreciate all of the honest feedback and support.
