Has anyone ever had any problems with order items from vintagescent.com? Or does anyone know about how long it takes for a delivery to take place? It has been three weeks and I'm beginning to get nervous.
I haven't heard any negative things from this vendor. The items are coming from somewhere in Europe. Have you tried to contact him?.
Yeah I emailed earlier today but I haven't heard back. I guess I'm just not used to ordering from Europe and probably getting nervous over nothing.
What did you order? Semogue's are sent directly from the factory in Portugal, they are usually made to order in small batches BY HAND and routinely take a number of weeks to get the numbers for a run of them. That said, VintageScent is a well known and highly respected seller. Maybe throw them an email and ask. Often times they have shipping and tracking details available once you log into your account on the website.
I would wait at least a week before worrying, especially during the Christmas rush. Not everything happens instantaneously. This is particularly true if emailing someone in Europe from North America due to the time difference. You could also send a PM. Vintangescent is TSD member Leon.
Big Dawg....I wouldn’t get to worried yet, although I can appreciate the anxiety you’re feeling. I ordered a brush from this vendor sometime in October and it took a good 3 weeks (or a little) more before it arrived in Indiana. But when it got here, it was in perfect condition and I was very satisfied. I’ve heard from other members that sometimes things get tied up in customs, which I suppose could be possible, although there wasn’t anything on the packaging that would indicate it was checked. But since I don’t know “what” or “how” they check, that could be the explanation for the delay. At lease in my case, all’s well that ended well. Good Luck! -Freehand-
It sometimes takes a long time for the packages to make it through customs. I've been waiting about 3 weeks for a 2015HD and 2010 LE. Not atypical. If you set up an account on their website, you can get the tracking no. that you can use on the USPS website to monitor progress.
Also, this time of year is the most likely for unexpected delays, both shipping and customs. I have had even shipments of books from Europe take two to three weeks longer than normal in December.
They and the owner are excellent so I would not worry but if you PM them the owner is very responsive and posts on these forums on a regular basis. I would suggest that it is more a problem with the mail. Also, I ordered the Semogue LE badger and have not received mine either. So, it may just be that time of year.:happy088
I got a hold of Bruno and he said it was just due to customs being slow because of the holidays. Makes total sense now that I stop and think about it. Bruno could not have been nicer or more helpful. I feel ashamed to have been worried!
Someone in Latvia emailed me to say that something I had sent had not arrived. Two weeks later he said he had discovered that the package had been sitting at his post office, undelivered for 4 weeks. Patience is needed, but sometimes it's sensible to make your own enquiries if delays do occur.
Bruno "Leon" is a legit vendor, however shipping never was his forte, especially when it comes to LE's
