1. This morning, I went out for breakfast with my niece and nephew, and then we went to the barbershop, because I needed a haircut, and so did my nephew. My barber told me that the Proraso Green cream is completely different now in the formulation, and that he very highly recommends it. At first I told him that I used it for a while, and that I took a strong dislike to it, and he told me like this, "Jeff, you know I will never suggest anything to you that I never tried or didn't like. Here is a brand-new tube of it--it is a gift for you, and I want you to enjoy it. You pay me nothing for it, it is my pleasure!" Well, let's see how it performs tomorrow when I take my morning shave. Guys, wish me good luck!
  2. Good fortune with the test!
  3. I didn't know they had reformulated recently. Good luck with the inagural lather.
  4. A reformulation that actually improved performance? Blasphemy!

I can't wait to see what your results are.
  5. Well, this so-called "new formulation" is bullsh.. as far as I can see. The lather was and still is always very dependable, the cooling effect is still great, yes - but the scent is still lousy (to me) and while I was doing my 2nd and 3rd passes, I started to feel some irritation which I never get from the 2 other Proraso versions, meaning the red tube and white bowl soap. Oh sure, I got a very smooth shave, but I did NOT enjoy it so much. I plan to use this stuff as rarely as possible if I decide to keep it.
  6. Jeff, how do the ingredients differ from the classic Proraso Green cream?

  7. Bill, there is no difference in the ingredient list whatsoever - I am holding the tube in my hand as I write this comment. The tube is a slightly darker green in color than the last tube which I bought around 6 years ago. :(
  8. Then if the ingredients are the same and in the same order (which will indicate amount used) then what is the change?
  9. That is what I cannot figure out either.
  10. Maybe your barber finally got a fresh batch of cream in?!
  11. Years ago (not sure how log ago but you still find a dusty box tucked away at some pharmacies) the tube looked like this and contained Lanolin

Now it looks like this and does not contain Lanolin

  12. I hear a lot of great things about the Proraso and before I get on the bandwagon I just have one question: does sensitive skin tolerate their products?
  13. I would have to say that it matters.. There is fragrance in it... some cooling. If you have very sensitive I would stick to ones designed for sensitive. However I haven't ever heard of anybody with a reaction to Poraso.
  14. The cream's performance itself is fantastic - but it just doesn't give me any pleasure compared to other menthol creams and soaps. The lather is A-1 and super-easy to work with, but I hate the scent and it doesn't take care of my skin. :(
  15. Great Cream, been using it for over 2 years.
  16. I've used the Proraso in the green tubes for the past 10-years and I have very sensitive skin, and it has served me well. I've never used the product in the red tube or white tub, but I think I will give them a try. That scent you do not like is the eucalyptus.
