I took this travel kit on holiday and I am really pleased with it. It comes in a nice black case with a hard shell to protect the contents. Inside you have : a tube of shaving cream; a tub of preshave cream and a bottle of liquid aftershave balm. All of them are travel size and with the exception of the aftershave are from the Proraso green range, The aftershave is, I think, from the White range, but now that Proraso have just introduced a "Green" aftershave balm it could be possible that travel kits produced in the future might come with the matching "Green" aftershave balm. Who knows. Completing the kit is a small Omega brush and a travel mirror which is kept in a handy webbed pocket. I was able to fit my R41 quite comfertably in that pocket, making this possible the only piece of shaving kit you need to take with you on your travels. I didn't expect much from the brush. Prior to my trip I had made a lather with the brush and left the lather on the brush overnight to soften the bristles. I had done this only twice , but that was it. The brush wasn't really broken in, or so I thought. The bristles were the softest I had ever felt!! I was amazed. It was softer than my semogue and my Wee Scot! It is a bit small to be used in my normal rotation but it is ok for travel purposes, and the softness of the bristles means I will be looking into buying its big brother, a big Proraso shave brush, also made by Omega. Here is a pic alongside my DE89 so you can get a sense of how small the brush is. Although small it is more than adequate. The small mirror is made of cardboard with some sort of reflective surface so it won't break. I wouldn't say this is the best mirror in the world, you can't see any details in it, and I wouldn't use it unless you were really desperate and had no mirror, in which case this would stop you from shaving your eyelids off I guess, but that's about it. The Preshave container seems to hold plenty of product, more than enough for a couple of weeks. Then again I only need a small amount of the preshave YMMV. The aftershave again had more than enough to last. I used it every day of the week and there is still plenty left in the bottle. Again YMMV Now the Shave cream. I have to admit I did bring my Proraso green soap with me. Simply because I am better with soaps than creams, and I didn't want to ruin my holiday struggling to make a lather with the shave cream. However the last two days i used the cream and along with the brush was able to make a great lather in no time. But, and this is a big but , if i was to go away again just with this kit I would buy a couple more of the travel size tubes of shaving cream. This wouldn't be a problem as refills for the kit are available very cheaply ( about £1.50 or $2 for a tube of shaving cream) and it would be very easy to fit in a few extra tubes of shaving cream into the case, just by placing them in the webbed pocket. Again i probably use too much shave cream - YMMV Overall i had some great shaves and could quite easily go away again with just this kit and my travel tech. It was quite nice to open up this very handsome, modern case and see all these little pots of goodies sitting there, waiting to be used, and it is great to have everything in the one case, so I didn't have to spend ages each morning trying to find everything I needed before, walking over to the shower block on the camp site. I would highly recommend this to anyone, just one condition. You must like Proraso.
Great review and a really nice case =) I would get a small/medium and thin container and full it with Green proraso croap if you dont like the cream
Got it from a site called Proshave.dk . Best customer service ever. The first kit had a broken brush, just the base of the handle had come off, nothing that a bit of glue wouldn't fix. But i wrote to Proshave hoping to swap over the brush for one i didn't have to fix. They just sent me a whole new travel kit!!! For free! might have to PIF the case and the brush and some point in the future.
Don't know about its availability in the states, but you can get it from Ireland from www.shaving.ie and as you are not EU citizens you will pay less than I did as you won't have to pay tax
