my first shave cream was Proraso. its a wonderful cream no problems at all. not too long ago I got some C.O Bigelow I thought It was going to be the same but when I used it it burned my face. I literally had red bumps on my face and it hurt for hours. anyone else have this issue.?

Strange. Both made by the same people. Never used the proraso branded cream but i do use the Bigelow. Can't say that i have ever had any problems.

yes I know its strange because I am under the impression that they are made by the same company, but maybe they substitute or add something to the C.O Bigelow brand.

Weird. I've never gotten anything except wonderful shaves from Bigelow. You may just have a bad tube....from the bottom or top of the batch and it wasn't mixed well or something *shrugs*

Take it back and swap it out for a different tube if it isn't too big of a pain to do so.

I'm allergic to some creams but not bigelow. I thought it was proraso just in a different tube?

I am almost certain that I red a post somewhere that they were a little different. Maybe just one ingredient off.

I think I found what Burns!

Well I tried to compare as best as I could. but I did see some differences in the products.

    1. Amyl Cinnamal - Only on Proraso
    2. Eugenol - Only on Proraso
    3. geraniol - Only on Proraso

    4. Sodium Metasilicate - Only on C.O Bigelow

    Interesting Find. - Source http://www.housekeepingchannel.com/hcp_357-Sodium_metasilicate

Sodium Metasilicate is highly alkaline. Dust from the powder can irritate the nose, eyes and lungs. When mixed with water to form a cleaning solution, prolonged exposure to this compound can cause skin irritation. Wear protective gloves, eye protection and long sleeved shirts and pants while using this product. Wear a dust mask while mixing the powder with water if dust irritates nasal passages.

I knew there was a difference when I used the product and it BURNED MY FACE NOW DO YOU BELIEVE ME!

No wonder they sell that C.O Bigelow so cheap.

Did you use any other new to you products during this shave?

It was the day I got the Shae Brush everyone is raving about. I remember I cleaned it with shampoo. Then I was anxious to test her out. so I lathered her up with some of that Bigelow. Maybe there was some left over shampoo and it had some adverse reaction. I think I may have to do some testing.

When reading ingredients list online, I find Google and Wiki fairly invaluable.

    Propylene Glycol
