I use Provence Sante Verlain in my soap rotation (sorry, I haven't tried the green tea scent). I find the is an excellent soap that just doesn't get discussed nearly as often as it deserves. It's a very hard tripple milled soap with a vegetable base. It lathers fairly easily, producing a very slick lather with excellent skin care and a great verbena & linden flower scent. For those that don't know those scents, it's a floral that isn't nearly as sweet as most florals.

The one minor weakness is in protection. It isn't bad on protection, but I'll notice some minor irritation when using really aggressive razor & blade combos that doesn't occur with some other soaps. It's not an issue with 90% of the shave set-ups I use, so just use your judgement on if this is an issue for you.

Now, the real point of this post. For those of you looking to try a new soap or try your first hard milled soap, I'd like to recommend Provence Sante. At about $10/puck it's low end for cost as far as tripple milled soaps are concerned, yet performs better than average.

The Verlaine (and Green Tea) AS's smell wonderful so if these soaps are anything like them I'll vouch for the scents.

By vegtable based are you saying there's olive oil? Haven't had much luck w/ olive oil soaps. Is the lather soapy or creamy? Thanks Erik.

Shep - It's not Olive Oil based, but rather palm kern oil. It's the major oil in most good vegetable based shave soaps. I don't plan on making another shaving order for a few months, but when I do, I'll have to get one of the AS's.

    Axel - I don't use a straight, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work great.
