Spotted this product at CVS yesterday as I was looking for some hair wax/pomade and couldn't resist picking it up. I mean..just the idea of having my hair smelling of Old Spice was just too compelling..and odd to not give it a go.

    Scent
Very weak unfortunately and yes it has a vague Old Spice smell to it but if no one had told me that's what it was I'm not 100% sure I would had been able to guess it.

    Performance
Not bad, not great. Kinda middle of the road.
For $8 you can probably do better out there.
Oh well, at least I got to sort of have my hair Old Spice scented :)

I think they have another pomade too

They do. They had one that was more for spiky hair.

I like the container though and once it is empty I'll glue it shut, cut a slit in the top and make it my new blade bank :)

I thought they had two pomades? I've seen one that was kinda gelatinous. Have you tried any of the Axe hair care?

Hm, didn't see any other Old Spice products than those two (spiffy and spiky).
They DID have a slew of Axe products (wax/pomade I think) in black, small tubs and I would probably had gotten one of those had it not been for the attraction of the Old Spice one.

I could be mistaken as well.

What about stirring in a shake or two of the after shave???

The Axe pomades are surprisingly good, at least for my hair.

I figured out that if I apply the Old Spice pomade to less-wet hair it actually works really well and I rather like its performance.
May have to try the Axe next.

In general, pomade tends to work best with slightly damp hair (so I'm told). Basically, don't dry your hair completely and then apply.

    Cool.

I use the "smooth look" one mostly which has a good amount of shine, but I also use the "clean cut" which is matte. Let me know what you think.

    Which one did you get?

I passed by the Axe for a while just because I didn't want to smell like, well, Axe. But my son got some and I noticed it wasn't terrible smelling and discovered that it works quite well.

I also like the Suave pomade. Gotta give that a shot, and yes, always on towel dried hair. Less than wet is a great descriptor for it.

Clean cut look. It said pomade so I went with it. I will review it here tomorrow

I also like the Got-2-be in the mauve puck. More of a hair cream (tho it's called pomade)... works nicely too. Also matte finish.

The Axe Clean Cut pomade is great! I love the hold it gives. It took me by surprise when I looked up and my hair was too. The scent is great. Kinda a coconut? Maybe? I'll definatley buy it again. It has held wonderfully.

Hmm oldspice & axe pomade... sounds risky.
Maybe after I PIF my suavecito as I have a lot of pomades atm.
