Alright, I'll tell you right off the bat - if you are unsure about your feelings towards vetiver, you might not want to try this stuff. But if you like/love Vetiver, you are missing out if this isn't in your inventory.

This is a QED soap - to me, that is synonymous with excellence. I am not being hasty in saying Charles at QED makes the best glycerin shave soaps. They may very well be a little more pricey - a tub of this runs $12 - but well worth it. The lather is easy to generate, lasts for at least 3 shaves, moisturizes and lubricates.

So on to the scent. QED soaps almost exclusively contain essential oils only - and lots of them. Charles does not skimp. The scents are pure and strong. Unless the scent description includes multiple scents, they are single note scents. This is not a complex vetiver. It is not like Floris Vetiver, or Guerlain Vetiver. No top notes of one thing or another. One note only - vetiver.

The only cologne I have smelled that has a similar vetiver scent is Etro Vetiver. The vetiver in the QED soap is a very warm, earthy, woodsy vetiver. For me, I get the strong impression of a campfire when I lather this up - smoky, woodsy, earthy, outdoors. Sorry, but I can't describe it much better.

It is strong. I get a slight tingle from this soap, so if you have sensitivity issues, you might want to pass. If you like vetiver, though, this will blow you away. A must have for any vetiver lover.
