I didn't want to remove this knot because it's in good shape, and because I was just too lazy to do it. The problem was that the top had a couple of cracks. They had to be fixed so not to let water in and cause more damage. So I used J-B Weld to fill them in and sanded them smooth using fine and very fine sanding sponges. While it looks dark grey when the J-B Weld is sanded, it works. First pic after applying the epoxy and second when finished................
