Ranking: The top 5 best shaving safety razors. . . including -- DE, SE, and Injector razors, and including new production & vintage razors. * - I know that I am "opening a can of worms," and that this question is a YMMV question. . . There are no right or wrong answers, I just hope that everyone will share their honest opinions as to what they consider to be "The top 5 best shaving safety razors." . . . including -- DE, SE, and Injector razors, and including new production & vintage razors.
Good question, and there may be trends but there surely will be some obscure odd razors mentioned. Mine in no particular order because I like whichever I choose for that particular shave; Gillette #195 Fat Boy (1959 E4) Gillette 3 pc Long Comb NEW bar handle Gillette Red Tip (1955 A4) Schick J-1 with a Twin blade The Bunny Injector (Prototype by Tom @twhite)
I have no problem with this one: 1) Gillette NEW Short Comb(ca 1932-1940)/ 1911 Gillette Single Ring OLD Type 3)1952 Gillette Super Speed Black Tip 4)1971 Super Adjustable 109 5)1966 Schick Krona Honorable Mention- GEM Featherweight SE(sorry Fuzzy)
Cooper MonoBilt Schick B1 Repeating Razor Gillette New Short Comb Ikon X3 Slant Gillette F1 Fatboy Although I just got a RazoRock Baby Smooth and it may end up knocking one of these out of the top 5
Difficult to answer and I will have some shared positions. 1. ikon X3 and ikon 102. 102 is maybe a slightly better shaver for daily shaving, but will clog with more beard. X3 is thus a bit more versatile as it is not easily clogged. Both deserve a shared first place. 2. My lightweight shavers: Saiver (loaded with only one blade + included shim) and Merkur 45 bakelite share a second place. 3. PAA Bakelite slant is a good shaver, but picky with blades. This one would be higher up if the cap would be wider and give more support to the blade. 4. Merkur 15C. Nothing can clog this one. 5. Mühle R41, for super long lasting shaves.
"Your Top Five Safety Razors..." may be more accurate as trying to achieve a consensus of opinions as to the 'best' is not only subjective but highly argumentative. My top: Mühle R41 (2011 version) Merkur 39c slant Gillette Tech Merkur Futur Gillette 195

You have other redeeming qualities. Let's see.. I will not put in order. Gem 1912,24,14,Schick E2, most any model lather catcher.
It's nice to think about once in a while. Here is my ranking: 1. Rockwell 6s 2. Merkur Futur 3. Merkur 39c Vorschlaghammer 4. Gillette Aristocrat 5. Gillette New Long Comb Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
My list has changed fairly frequently during my tenure with a DE/SE razor. In no apparent order I think my favorites are/were Gem Open Comb Micromatic - The first shave kicked my butt, but once I learned it I had great shaves every time I used it. Gillette LC New - Probably my favorite shaver. Gillette Tech - Things first clicked with a Feather Portable and an IRP for me. Now years later, I am still a fan of the tech. They all shave incredibly well. Weber PH Bulldog - Great shaving razor. It is a shame they aren't made any more. This is the razor that made me realize I didn't need an overly aggressive razor to get a good shave. Barbasol Floating Head Razor - (ive had 5 or 6 of them and accidentally got my best shave of all time with one and a perma-sharp super)
Also not in order: Gillette 195 Adjustable '50s Flare-Tip SuperSpeed Post-War Tech Schick Adjustable with Twin Blade Schick E2

In no particular order: Ever Ready 1924 Pal InjectoMatic Gillette Super Speed Red Tip Schick Krona The Bunny by @twhite
1. Weber PH with classic handle 2. Rocnel 6c with plate #3 3. Muhle R41 (2013) 4. ATT S1 5. Barbasol non floating head
