Razor & Brush stand recommendations?

I've decided to upgrade from the cheap Tweezerman brush I got a while back when I didn't know if wetshaving was going to be for me. So, next week, I am going to order a C&E BBB. That seems to be a pretty decent starter brush.

As it's a decent brush that should last a long time, if treated correctly, I also want to get a brush stand for it. And if the brush stand would also hold the razor, that would be even better.

Does anyone here have any suggestions/recommendations?

    Thanks. :)

    Don't waste your money? :)

Seriously, you don't need one. If you want one, that's different..........

Well I thought I had read, somewhere, that hanging the brush made sure that water didn't just sit in the handle. The implication was that, over time, the water just sitting in the handle from standing the brush up would degrade and damage the brush.

    Is that not true?

I was told by a fairly reliable source that hanging them isn't a big help--capillary action draws moisture up into the knot when you hang it in a stand.

I was trying to buy a stand from the guy at the time, so I take him at his word. ;)

Apparently, all you need to do is make sure your brush is well squeezed/shaken out at the end of your shave. Mantis has good recommendations on brush care in his videos, as well.

Well that puts a whole new slant on things. I guess, then, that I don't NEED a razor/brush stand, but they just look so darn cool. And it helps to keep everything organized on the bathroom counter, instead of just laying all over the place.

So, even admitting that I don't NEED a stand, does anyone have any recommendations for the C&E BBB?

Just make sure you don't store your brush in a damp, closed up place.

JayKay 3000 posts and all I got was this lousy title

I have a might expensive set with a chromed handle brush and a chrome stand and my merkur HD. It sat on the counter for a couple months. And than it required cleaning and stuff. and its annoying. And now everything winds up in the closet. I hate stands.
