Are there any hard fast care or maintenance rules for a newbie regarding my new WEISHI DE razor?

Hard and fast? Not really. I use a tooth brush and dish soap every time I change the blade to clean off soap scum.

Not much to worry about then besides keeping it clean. The razor I have ordered is a cheap one anyway. I'll probablly step up to something nice after the first week.

The Weishi you have ordered, does it have the word Weishi stamped on the doors and come in a case with a clear cover?

All my razors are old ones so once a week I pamper them with Scrubbing Bubbles and a tooth brush. Every other week or so I use Never Dull on them to keep them shiny.

    Hi

Hi, I would not try to mess with it too much I have a gold plated one and it started loosing the plating after a 2 weeks of normal use. just rinse it and maybe clean it with alcohol. if you can get an edwin jagger 89 abut 34 bucks

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered the crome plated one so I wonder if its any different.

The EJ89L is my choice. It looks like a great razor. I want to try the Weishi
for a while first to see if I am going to stick with it.

I am pretty sure I'll end up buying all kinds of stuff after the first week or two

    +1 on that one :happy088

Polishing like 1OldGI is not necessary in my rotation, because they are fairly new razors. But the older Gillette's I had were treated with Flitz Polish (probably similar to Never Dull) every now and then....

  11. +1 on that...but be careful if you have gold ones or you'll quickly polish off the laquer.
