Razor Stand Project! Check it out.

I picked up this vintage tobacco pipe and loose leaf holder at a tag sale for...

90 cents! So, I went over to Home Depot, bought some sandpaper, wood stain and a brush; I did a first coat this evening and I will post later with results.

What do you guys think? It seems perfect. 6 Slots for razors, a large bowl for storage of creams, lotions, etc.

 

The notches on the bottom would be a perfect place to store razor blades as well. It seems spot on.

 

Wow! But where do the brushes go?

 

Looks great. If/when you exceed 6 razors, the extras can hang out in the bowl

So, I filled it up with all my blades, and my new shaving bowl from Walmart fits perfectly on top where I put my products =]

 

Great job on the pipe holder! Turned out really nice, and....you've got yourself a nice little shave den going on there.

 

Is there such a thing as shave den envy? Great job with the restore. Just for my own knowledge in case I do something along the same line, did the stain you used have any water repelling properties?

that bowl was a score too. it has ridges like a suribachi bowl... which I couldn't anywhere locally. they're carried at walmart and retain heat very well.

WTG! It looks wonderful.*Claps* I would suggest keeping your blade packs away from the sink & moisture. Many shavers store extra blades outside of the bathroom altogether, as the humidity can cause premature corrosion.

 

What a "GREAT" score and a "FANTASTIC" restore/repurpose job you did on it....
