Hi all, just wanted to do a quick comparison of the RR Mission and Merkur 34C. First off weight. The RR Mission is .5 Oz heavier then the 34C. This is due to the slightly longer solid brass handle. When comparing the head they are very similar in design (I think the mission is a clone), however from the naked eye it appears that the Mission has a little tiny bit more blade exposed and a slightly larger blade gap, meaning the mission should provide a slight more aggressive experience. I've shaved with both and they both offer a smooth easy shave. Considering you can get the Mission for half the price of the 34C and 20 decent blades to go with it and a solid heavy handle that you can use with new heads that you might want to try out I'd have to recommend the Mission. I think it had been unjustly labeled a beginner's razor and should be considered a good general purpose razor like the 34C Mission is on top Mission on the right Mission on right
Look for my upcoming PIF in the near future .... i'll be sending one lucky winner a brand new RR Mission razor (since i have 2 of them) ... its a great razor and the quality and performance are well beyond it's price
@Linuxguile thanks for the review. I really didn't know much about the RR Mission before, I'd probably recommend it now.
The mission was my first DE ( not counting when I was a kid). It's a great shaver, and comes with a variety of blades. The mission was my daily driver for almost a year. I highly recommend this razor.
