Real shaving cream 2x moisturizing is awesome IMO. Smooth shave great lather glide and cushion. I love the way it performs. However I hate the smell of it. Its the worst thing ever to me. So today I added 2 drops of lemon essential oil and two drops of orange. It was amazing the scent of the cream perfectly complimented the oils. Amazing how some essential oil can change my least favorite cream to the top of my list. Now if I can pair it with a little menthol and make it work I'll be in love lol

Can we assume that the added oils do not affect the lather?

Look at you, Mr. Mixology! :)

Citrus is my favorite scent family. One of the frustrating things about Orange & related essential oils is that they can fade relatively quickly in products, especially soap. Your solution of using EO drops as needed (instead of pre-mixing the whole thing) is a great way to spruce up your cream without needing a lot of EO.

I just had to find something to change the scent of that cream lol. If I wanted my best shave I had to put up with that awful scent. My pastor gave me the original idea w lavender and lime. But I hate flowery scents and couldn't find lime eo anywhere so I substituted lol. I'm glad I did now I have a wonderful smelling and performing product

I use both lemon and orange essential oils to scent creams and soaps and agree it really works great. They are really inexpensive and a 4 ounce bottle lasts forever.

You can buy menthol crystals on ebay at a very reasonable price. I add the crystals to avocado oil and use a few drops to scent creams and soaps. In the summer I use a few drops of eucalyptus oil with the menthol mix to kick up Proraso.

Just put a dab of Proraso (green) on your brush before making your lather. That should give you the menthol blast you're looking for.
