I've recently discovered that I really enjoy using shave sticks and face lathering. I've used 4 so far and found each one to be an excellent performer with my Semogue 1438 brush. I really don't have a favorite but was wondering what everyone else thinks of using shave sticks?
Hate em. I love Arko and Palmolive soaps but truly hate the feeling of rubbing a stick on my face so I grate them into a Ziploc container.
I'm a big fan of Arko sticks and also enjoy the Palmolive. La Toja and Speik are on my list of things to eventually try. Glad you are enjoying them. Nothing like a stick and a face lather when you are pressed for time...
I used some a while ago and was not all that impressed...meh! BUT having just received a big batch of shave soap sticks from the TSD store, I'm now singing a different tune! See 'em HERE All mentholated, lanolin; in a variety of flavors....Bourbon Vanilla, Jasmine, Floids Blue, Woodshed, TSD Signature, SubZero, plus a few others. Easy to apply to a wet face (as one would a deodorant stick to an underarm) and the lather is just top-shelf. One application and brushing lasts for three shaving passes. JoAnna's fragrances are outstanding as well. Can you tell I am impressed by this product? Really an superb product that completely caught me unawares.
It's not a desire, it's a necessity. I have two elementary school aged kids that I get dressed and bring to school every day. Then after working ten hours I coach both of thier sports teams, ski, scuba dive, ride mountain bikes and go to the gym with my wife 4 or 5 days per week. There are many days where I not only don't have time for a luxury shave, it's a small miracle I get out the door with my pants on
Yeah, with both of ours grown and out of the house, I forget the years of coaching their T-Ball teams, being a Cub Master, 12 hour shifts/no days off exercises with the AF, etc., etc. Fun times, though.
My favorite way to use a shave soap is with a shave stick. Mikes, Tabac, MWF, and Arko have all been great!
lol. Autocorrect gets everyone sooner or later! I usually shave in the evenings. After the kids get wrestled into bed, we clean up, get lunches ready for next day, lay out clothes etc. Most weeknights my wife and I get "maybe" an hour of quiet time to spend together. I just can't spend half of it shaving.... Saturday and Sunday I do a fully loaded shave to make up for it....
