About nine months ago I picked up a Redleaf shaving brush and life continued and it sat on the shelf as dirty as I received it. Today I decided to restore it and being in the forefront of my mind; I like to know the history behind the brushes I work on. So I set to researching Redleaf brushes and come up with very little. I even search other shave sites, but still coming up with nothing really definitive. Then I find a couple hair brushes (Redleaf and Rooney) marked for the John Wanamaker department store. Then it started to make sense ......... John Wanamaker stores were rebranding Kent , Culmak, Rooney and Simpson (possibly more) shaving brushes as Redleaf. Redleaf was the store brand for clothing, shoes, perfume and shaving brushes (probably much more than that) This said voice your opinion and if you have one, post your Redleaf shaving brushes
Based on the handle shape, I would lean towards it being a Culmak made brush, though any of the manufacturers could have made it.
I agree. @Old School has one that looks definitely like a Simpson; I've also seen Redleafs that look like a Kent V series brush.
