Moustache Wax Review Bounders Extra Firm Moustache Wax Price: One of the more expensive waxes to come out of the UK, however I feel it is absolutely worth it. £11.99 will get you 3/10ml tins, shipping to Canada was an additional £2.00 and was here in 7 business days, once again shipping the same day. Packaging: 10ml screw top metal tin which is very easy to keep in a pocket for any daily reapplications or for travel. There was also a beautiful custom wrapper and envelope from “Mr. Wax” with a hand written thank you note on the invoice as well. Stunning. Ingredients: I can’t find the list. It’s not on the label, however most, if not all of it is natural, and includes real Navy Rum for scent! Scent: As mentioned above, this has a nice scent of Navy Rum which lasts for several hours after applying the wax, it’s absolutely beautiful and very exotic compared to others. Not my absolute favourite however it is in the top 2! Consistency: Very firm and slightly crumbly unless it has been warmed. Applying & Look: Application was very easy after a slight warming with body heat, and it rolled around the fingers easily to apply to the moustache. Spreading it evenly over my moustache it quickly blended in without any color change or noticeable adding of a shine to the hairs. A very slight bit of clumping happened on the corner of my mouth, however I applied it not overly warmed and they quickly dissolved into my moustache. Durability: 10km morning run did absolutely nothing to my moustache. I firmly believe I could walk through a hurricane and look no different except for some wet clothing. The after run shower didn’t really touch it at all, and all I needed to do was reshape it – you MAY have issues washing this out, but if you’re like me and use a wax daily does it really matter? Water Solubility: Good luck getting this out with regular water. That’s about all I can really say in regards to this, it will hold up very well in rain, sleet, snow, frozen condensation moustaches – the whole shebang will be waved off by this wax with a hearty smile and laughter. Final Verdict: 5/5 Handlebars. I will be keeping this in my den come hell or high water.
Hallo - thank you for all the kind words about Bounder - it's always an excellent thing to learn that it works as well on other gents' whiskers as it does on my own lip weasel. As the tins are deliberately small and intended for keeping in coin or waistcoat pocket, the full list of ingredients is on the envelope in which they are packed, so I hope the scan below helps:
Where was this back in the day? My stache was so big it curled around once in a loop big enough that it could and did hold up the bottom of my glasses. All that was available was the Club Man wax which I found was not all that moisture proof. And if I washed it it would hang down below my chin. So I had to be careful not to run into the first sgt or sgt major that way. I had to play barracks lawyer to keep proving that it was within the letter of the AR's - technically it did not grow beyond the end of mouth or below the upper lip, technically. But it was fun to have and to watch some of the senior NCO and officers steam. But for what ever reason the sgt major liked it and informed several of them that it was within the AR's (he was a nice man actually I found most of them to be nice folks). Now my just turned 16 year old daughter saw a picture of me with it and laughed, and I thought that I was so cool with it. Different times, different ways to be cool I guess. I love her anyway.
