To preface my review, I have no connection, personal or otherwise, with Jack Black products. I am a traditional wet shaver in an endless search for high quality shaving products. My review is my opinion. As usual YMMV. Website: http://www.getjackblack.com/ The Jack Black brand sells a wide range of men’s products (body, bath, shaving). Price: (8/10) $23 CDN for 97 ml. / 3.3 fluid oz. Widely available in general stores including local drug stores, men’s shops, even natural food stores. Prices seem to vary up or down a few dollars. Quality: (8/10) The ingredients, product packaging, and feel of the gel on application speaks of quality. I believe it is worth the money. Ingredients: (From their website): Water (Aqua), Glycerin, PEG-8, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, PEG/PPG-14/4 Dimethicone, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract(1%), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Melissa Officinalis (Balm Mint) Leaf Extract, Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Fruit Extract, Equisetum Arvense Extract, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Tussilago Farfara (Coltsfoot) Leaf Extract, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polysorbate 20, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol. *Certified Organic Face feel: (9/10) I am not prone to razor burn, but I can say this product is very soothing. It goes on easy and absorbs well. It has a cooling sensation when applied and ingredients like calendula, aloe, Witch Hazel and lavender have natural healing properties. In my view this post-shave gel would be suitable for someone with sensitive skin. Cooling Sensation: (9/10) This product is not mentholated, but the gel, even at room temperature has a pleasant cooling sensation. No alcohol. Scent: (9/10) Very mild. On a scale of 1- to 10 it is a 1…and it fades quickly. The scent is pleasant: lavender, rosemary and sage. While there is a mild natural scent I would classify this product as scent free because it is barely detectable to even my sensitive note. I see no chemical fragrance in the ingredient list. Moisturizing: (8/10) The ingredient list has lots of good products that have moisturizing qualities. Just a little dab is sufficient. Great post application feel, though I do detect a mild tackiness (this may be dependent on the amount used). Ups: A nice cooling and soothing post shave gel. Nice packaging. The plastic bottle has a solid feel, i.e. not flimsy and the dark blue and black colour of the bottle and packaging looks quite smart. An important feature for those who like to display their shaving gear for all to see. Also, a small amount goes a long way. Downs: If you are seeking to buy a cheap drugstore variety ASB for under $10 then this product is a bit pricey at $23. Having said that, however, I am very pleased with the quality and look of the product. Would I buy it again: Absolutely. The low/no scent quality and moisturising and soothing property is for me a definite plus. Local availability (don’t have to order online and pay shipping) is a benefit. Overall: (9/10) Looks great, feels great. Suitable for sensitive skin or those sensitive to scents or fragrances. This is my first Jack Black product. Based on this experience, I am tempted to try other Jack Black products.

I have used this for over a year now and I concur with the review. It's a good soothing gel, but leaves the face feeling a bit "sticky", or "mild tackiness" would also be accurate. IMO Nivea Balm feels better (no "stickiness") and priced better. Why spend more money for a sticky face? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Great rewiew! I have a few post shave balms, but this is the one I use the most. I use a witch hazel after I shave and after that dries a little Jack Black. A small amount works perfect for me and takes care of any burn I may have given myself. That small bottle has lasted me over a year of use.
