Hello the forum, I got some Rockwell blades in a sampler pack and set them aside...as I didn't know much about them. I guess I like to "stay in a rut"!!! Well, I used one today in a Gillette Old with my Arko stick and Omega 49. To my surprise, a DF 2 pass shave. Anyone else use a Rockwell blade??? My search reveals nothing about them, other than most folks don't care for them. What say you???? Semper-fi Mike

I thought they shaved pretty damn good. Only a few nicks the first time I used them. The only time I had a serious problem the Rockwell blade was when I wasn't focused on what I was doing and had a ton of background noise going on.

They aren't my favorite either. Like most inexpensive blades, Rockwells only go a couple of shaves for me at most. The first shave is usually OK, but the shaves after that leave me a little red and itchy. Or, they just don't cut as well. Even in my 6S. But, they are hella inexpensive, so, one a day isn't unreasonable in my mind. Right now, I am using blades that give me 3 to 4 good shaves, so, I'll stick with those. And, yes, YMMV.

Not great not horrible has been my experience so far. I've tried to find out more about them, where they are made etc. and hope to have an official answer soon. In touch with the owner of Rockwell and just waiting for a couple of legal issues to be settled to allow him to talk more about the product.

Rockwell blades are the same as derby for me. Not a bad shave. Not as sharp as a personna. Not entirely smooth either.

I don't like them. But that's just me. On the other hand I like blades that many others hate. It's YMMV at full speed.

Picked up a pack of Rockwell blades when there was some people hyping them up. They are just ok, I wouldn't recomend running out to try them, but if you are curious give em a shot. They may work well for you, never know untill you try.

I know we've been throwing out quick opinions/comments about Rockwell blades. Gareth, the main man over there, is asking for specific feedback on the blades. The more info we can give him the better as to our experiences with it. I'll be happy to compile everything and forward it to him but I need some serious feedback. So, anyone who has already posted if you want to add specifics or further comments great, and anyone who is just finding this thread please add your experience and opinion to it as well! Thanks for your help. I have also added more info on the Rockwell Blades on the 30 Day Thread HERE so you can check it out if you'd like.

    Thanks again for your help!

Deeper explanation on why I don't like them:

    • They seem rough on first shave, a bit smoother from there on.
    • They don't seem particular sharp.
    • They render my shave a meh-experience throughout the shave, though it leaves a clean shaven face devoid of irritation. I just want the "meh" to go away.
    • I've tried them in both the Rockwell 6S but also the iKon X3 that somehow seems to like blades other razors don't like - same experience.
    Hope it helps.

My biggest complaint with the Rockwell blade is that it is not as sharp as I would like. I have a thick coarse beard that is heck on blades. Some just can't cut it and end up tugging instead. The Rockwell just never seemed nearly as sharp as I had hoped given their claims of being "exceptionally sharp." Overall, after using the blade I put it middle of the pack. It was middle of the pack on sharpness, no where close to the GSB or Bolzano and certainly not feathers. It was relatively smooth but nothing to write home about. It is above Derby and Dorco (which is not saying too much) but below a bunch of other blades including Crystal, Ladas, Voskhod, GSB, Bolzano and others.
