Hi Everyone, three weeks ago I was so fed up with shaving that I quit. I had some time off from work and decided to stop shaving altogether and grow a beard. Everything was going fine until I opened my browser and saw a video on the perfect shave. Since then my life has changed. My new hobby now is shaving. I purchased a Merkur long handle razor, some shaving cream and soap and had my first real shaving experience. It was so wonderful that I couldn't wait to go to bed and get up and shave the next day which ended up being a bummer because my shave 12 hours earlier was so good that I didn't need a shave. Not one to get discourged I thought it would be a good idea to practice. Not a good idea as I was overconfident and used the wrong stroke under my neck and developed a slight razor burn. No big deal but I knew it would interfere with the next days shave. Anyways, I came across your site and read almost all of your comments on razors, soaps, creams etc, More so I was impressed with the way the members communicated to each other and decided to join. Trouble is now I am suffering from RAD, RBAD, SCAD and SSAD of which I think I have the last two under control. To date I have a new razor, an old razor that was in my aunt possession, several creams, a couple of soaps, a couple of brushes that were laying around the house which I had been using for dusters around my computer. your life will never be the same. I'm a fellow upstater, not much in the way of shops around here though, thank God for the internet. For non New Yorkers, upstate means dairy cows, corn fields, and out of control taxes to pay for the City.
That's for sure. I'm about 20 miles from Ilion. I use to get down there a few years ago. Thanks for the welcome. Had a great shave today. This is my 5th DE shave to date. Thanks, am happy to be here.
Welcome Rookie...you're from part of the state that gets even more snow than we do here in Buffalo. Absolutely...just down the 90 a spell. Keep your eyes open for the next WNY razor meet.
Thanks for the welcome. A few years ago I use to get to Buffalo about once a month. What's this about a razor meet?
