Just picked up this Rubberset to restore! Haven't seen one like it before so I couldn't say no.[IMG]

Plan too! Its a big handle so I will have to decide on 22 vs 24 but I'll test fit it at 22 before altering the handle.

Before changing the knot why not give that beauty a try; you may be surprised how nice it is. I'd give it a short soak in some warm water with Borax and Dawn and then a good rinse. Experienced (Gotta be older than me to be vintage) Rubberset brushes are absolutely amazing.

I thought about it but the bristles seem very brittle. Many broke off while I was trying to clean up the handle with scotch brite. May still give it a try.

    LOL

    Well yeah.

Give the poor thing a Spa day before doing something like whipping it with scotch brite.

0000 steel wool and liquid dish soap, cleans great and not as scratchy, still needs polishing afterwards but not as much. :happy088:

I got a rubberset 200-4. I restored it. It's my favorite brush now! I'll try to post a pic later.

I am a huge fan of barber style handles, what knot did you use?

I used a maggard synthetic 26mm. I like the size. It works great! I have another brush I reknotted a newer one. But it's hideous. I tried a different glue and it ran everywhere and it's just a mess. But I really like this one.

I agree totally! The dye ran out the first use but it's great now.
