Lately I've noticed a rash of very able bodied people parking in handicapped spaces. This is happening at very crowded stores, and forcing "truly handicapped", and elderly people, to park much farther away. This kind of behavior really aggravates me. Any other rude behaviors that annoy you guys/gals??
And the flip side of that coin, the checkout person who is moving at a snail's pace even though there are many people in line.
Speaking while eating/chewing your food drives me nuts. Take a minute, finish your bite and then tell me.
Maybe not true to the thread, but I think it is absolutely rude for Publix to install self checkout lanes, and expect me to pay the the same price for their goods. I will not check myself out!
I feel the same way, about self checkout lines. Unfortunately, Krogers and Walmarts have plenty of self checkout lines, and only a couple of employees manning the other lines. There will be 10 people with loaded carts, in the two employee checkout lines, with 8+ lines unattended. If I only have a few items, I bite the "My Principles Bullet", and self checkout. It saves 15-20 minutes. H.E.B. Groceries are great, plenty of manned lines, and baggers available. .
Has anyone gone through a checkout line, and the checker hadn't even acknowledged your presence, or looked at you? I had one older lady(younger than me) checking my groceries, and it wasn't busy at all. She didn't look up, greet me, say good morning, nothing. She just finished the entire thing, and told me the total. I asked if she scanned the coupons, and she then did it, saying one wasn't good. I told her it was, because I double checked, and it even had a picture of the item on the coupon. I said i just picked the coupon a minute ago. She got snippy, and told me "Well it's not good". Which I then said that if she was having a bad day, not to take it out on me, and to either fix the problem, or get a manager. I threw in a Honey and Dear, in the sentance somewhere. She immediately figured out the problem, and was very polite after that. It was too early in their shift, and it was too slow of a morning, to be stressed from work. I was having a great day, and wasn't going to let her ruin it.
Self checkout is the company getting you to pay them for the privilege of doing their job. That's why the regular lanes are chained off - - that's at least one less person on the clock.
If enough people would load up the carts and then leave them maybe the stores would open up a few more registers. A few months ago I wanted to leave the cart but my wife said we need the stuff. 8/19/1942
That's the best part of eating with people who are fluent in ASL. They can talk with their mouths full, and not be disgusting.
