    Hey all,

Joe at Shave A Buck gave me a couple of Sabi three piece razors to try out a while back and asked that I post my shave experience on this site.

You can find pictures and vital statistics for the razors at shaveabuck. I used the short handled Sabi and the long handled Sabi. They have different heads, which means the blade sits differently in each razor. The difference in head design doesn't significantly affect the shave, though.

The big difference between the two razors in length and weight. (cue Homer- doh!)

The razors are heavy and well constructed. I gave each razor a test shave period (three days with a personna red pack) and then a usual shave rotation (five days with the blade of the week. in this case, a Derby Extra).

Both razors delivered good shaves. I find that they're on the mild side, especially the short handled Sabi. Keep in mind that I like aggressive razors (Gillette NEW, pre-redesign, Fatip head M.P. R89). I haven't tried pairing a Sabi with Feather blades, but that could be a winning combination.

The Sabi line sells for $12 to $14 at shave a buck. They'd make an excellent starter razor for someone looking to try out shaving with a double edge blade. The three piece design is simple, and it's a solid razor so it could last for years.

The Sabi short handle and long handle razors are good razors. Try them out. You might find a new favorite.
