Hello. I'm a future wet shaver getting my equipment right now and have a couple of questions. I'll try to post my questions in the appropriate sub-forums. How do you dispose of your spent razor blades? In my mind I see one of those medical "sharp object" disposal containers, but I'm curious what is realistic. Thanks in advance!
Old tin from mints or gum, sharps container, blade bank from one of the online vendors, a home-made item with a slot for blades, whatever works for you. Only caution would be if you have kids that go in the room where you shave, I'd make sure it's something totally sealed.
I just add mine to the used blade holder on the back of most blade packs. You could punch a hole in a soup/broth can and use that as a used blade disposal place. You really can't be too careful with old blades.
I posted a DIY project. You need a tin of some sort, gorilla glue and a punch. Glue the top. Punch a hole and fill. Recycle when full.
Yup, that what I did. I have a broth can which I punched a slice into the top of with a knife just long enough to take a used blade. I did remove the label. I didn't decorate it or anything since it just lives under the sink in the cabinet. When it is full I'll seal the top and recycle it.
I put my used blades in a used Pipe tobacco tin, love the smell of Cavendish tobacco everytime I open the tin
I went to the local Dollar Store and got a cheapo piggy bank. Works great and looks better than a can.
Welcome to The Shave Den, curiousity! I use an empty aspirin bottle marked with USED BLADES in Sharpie on the side to dispose of my blades.
I guess I'm a big ass than. I just throw them in the garbage. Everybody I live with knows I do. Everybody knows I shave with sharp razor blades. Nobodys lost a finger yet.
