Hi, I have purchased a Schick type E3 with injector blade bank, which is in very good condition but has no blades in it. Is it possible or has any one tried to reload one from the front where the blades come out?. Any information would be gratefully received.
Yes, this is possible. Make sure the blade is oriented the correct way (cutting edge not next to the insertion finger, but pointing the other way), push down the springs inside the holder with some object, then slide in the blades carefully. Make sure the cutting edge does not touch the case while sliding it in. Sounds more complicated than it is.
I have a injector blade bank from the same era that is full of good blades but in blade bank is in poor condition, so just going to swap the blades over. No rocket science involved.
The times I've done it, it was much easier to GENTLY fold out the blade stack retaining clip/s on the opposite end, insert a stack atop the spring, then reclose it. Just like in the factory.
Its now done, cleaned up & blades loaded, a big thank you for you help, I have added a couple of photos so you can see how it turned out.
