I have a local guy that does pottery. Asked him about making a Scuttle. Once I explained what it was and sent some pics this is what he made. Hopefully be getting it in a few weeks.
Not sure exactly where he got all the ideas. Should be able to get it within the next week. I can't wait. He has 2 to choose from.
Very nice and I like the added touch of the locking device. Usually the depth and width of the lather bowl is most important so you do not bang your brush handle on the sides while making lather. The Mekur Futur/Vision silvertip brush is the only one that I have found which works in all bowls and scuttles without problems. My "poor man's scuttle" which is a large coffee mug with a metal mixing bowl dropped inside and on the microwaved hot water works efficiently in the absence of a real scuttle. Doug
Serendipity? I ordered several things from Vintage Blades which made the shipping minimum, this was added because of the free shipping over the minimum order amount. The cup was one that my wife bought at the State House in Columbia from the clearance table.
I'll ask. He is supposed to have a smaller one without a handle. As soon add it is glazed I will get pics and prices.
