I will try to do a more in depth review of the scuttle in the next few days. I asked about the notch and he said it was more of a hassle than it was worth. He said in order to make it work and be consistent they would be bigger than the notch on the first one. It worked fine without the notch in my opinion. The original scuttle posted in the first post is available, I can check the price but I am thinking around $35-40 plus shipping. He didn't have a site that I am aware of but, I will ask.

OK, got the measurements on the scuttle. Outside dimensions are approximately 3" tall and 5.5" diameter. Inside the upper bowl is 4"diameter and 2"deep.
I finally took it for a spin a couple nights ago. Stayed warm after preheating and held a decent amount of lather, thus was my first use of a scuttle so not real sure on what points to hit.
It did feel good in the hand and the thumb kept the upper bowl from spinning even though it didn't seem to really want to spin anyway.

Hey Drew, did you end up getting that scuttle. I love that thing. Is the potter going to make any more?

Too bad I'm not in high school anymore.

I took four years of ceramics/pottery.

I could crank these out no problems. :(

I miss that class... I still have a ton of my work.

The two piece scuttle seems like a great idea from a drying out the scuttle after use perspective, does anyone know how well it retains heat in comparison to a one piece? Does anyone know if mildo is a problem on the inside of one piece scuttles?
Does he have a web site? Does he makes smaller scuttles, something along the lines of the Robert Becker "travel" scuttle? :)
