…and we're talking three leisurely passes, too. I've often made WAY too much lather in a scuttle, finished my 3-passes & touch up, washed up, finished dressing, had another cup of coffee, and returned 20 minutes post-shave to still find the lather in the covered scuttle basin nice & warm. If your actual shave takes longer than 35-45 minutes, you may lose some lather warmth….
Sorry for not being around lately. Busted my phone and was on an ancient one for a while. As for the scuttle, I ended up with the brown one. I went for it because it was deeper but, I really liked the color of the other. I know he still had the first one I posted and can check on a price if needed, just pm me.
Nice! I don't know if I would go with those colors, but it is kind of cool that he made something with functionality in mind on his first attempt. How much did he charge? I am curious as to how it would price to similar offerings by vendors.
That is a really competitive price. If I haven't already got mine, I would have considered inquiring further.
Here are a couple coffee mugs he done for me as well. The tree mug was from my wife for my Birthday, I bought her the other for Christmas.
Wow, I like how those look. He is really good at creating those rustic looks like something you would find in the south west. At least that is the feel I get from them.
A couple of years ago I tried the Phoenix Shaving Shatterproof Travel Scuttle. Light, fast, indestructible, and this resin helps spreading the heat very well. Now It's available the new version, in blue. https://phoenixartisanaccoutrements...ts/the-crown-king-shatterproof-travel-scuttle But I'm more a FL shaver, so I prefer the brush scuttle. After seeing the Dirty Bird Pottery model, I've done a DIY version. V1, glass / glass: easy to make, not bad http://ilrasoio.com/viewtopic.php?p=47392#p47392 V2, metal / ceramic: quick and durable warm lather (best option!!!) http://ilrasoio.com/viewtopic.php?p=64763#p64763 Now from PAA there is this option too. https://phoenixartisanaccoutrements...scuttle-a-classic-face-lathering-tool-ceramic
