I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The TSD Iced Lime Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #216 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem Push-Button razor and a CVS blade. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Clubman Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick M adjustable injector
    Brush: Jayaruh #142 black badger
    Lather: Stirling Grapefruit
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Grapefruit aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Schick adjustable this morning. Set to wide open (setting 8) for a smooth ride. I normally use settings 5-7 and have not used 8 until today. Perhaps I'll use #8 some more! It was smooth and comfortable and easy peasy.

    Have a great day!

I been using the Schick M the last few days (had it for a while - acquired a NOS one a while back) - really nice at the wide open setting, I do it wide open on 1st pass than 7 for last 2 passes - do u think wide open its equal to a Type G? I like the Type G as it angles a little easier -the Type M is a really flat handle probably to accommodate the dial,,, but mostly I like the 70's look to this razor!!

Now that you ask I think you're right - wide open is pretty close to a G1. There is a strange pulling feeling at the lower settings. I can't quite describe it but the razor doesn't flow over the skin as smoothly. Settings 7 and 8 seem to eliminate that phenomenon for me.

Another great shave. I did have a few weepers but I'm assuming it's the blade being new.

    SEptember 18, 2017 Shave

Pre-shave: Hot Shower then Shave Secret (not pictured)
    Brush: Omega Hi-Brush
    Cream: CO Bigelow
    Razor: Gem Micromatic bullet-tip
    Blade: Gem Stainless (2)
Post Shave: Dickenson's Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Shave Balm, Brut AS

This was my first shave since last Friday so it gave me a good opportunity to try out the vintage bullet-tip Micromatic which I picked up last month. After my first pass I had so much stubble remaining on the neck I thought there was a problem with the razor or the blade or my technique. That first pass was very comfortable but maybe I had too much slick going on between the lather and the Shave Secret. I re-lathered and my second pass was equally comfortable but this time I could hear the blade as it cut through the remaining stubble. I had to do a third, clean-up pass on my throat which is normal and I achieved a CCS. I then moved on to a head shave and it was outstanding! Gotta love these SE Gems!

Have a great week of shaves, my friends!
