While checking out the shelves in my local CVS store I noticed a massage oil section. Several of these oils supposedly create warmth. I was wondering if anyone has tried this type of oil. I'm a little leary since I figured whatever chemical caused the warmth might be too harsh for the face, but then again the label hinted that the oil can be used on "intimate" areas which can be even more sensitive than the face. Some of them are even subtitled Intimacy Oil. If I do buy this I hope I do not encounter a smirking clerk.
The wife and I are a fan of the warming oils :sexe I think they would work nicely on the face for pure warmth. Only bad thing is they would be pretty oily on the face. I'm really curious myself. I will try this tomorrow morning and report what I think. Now if you want a smirking clerk then go to the check out lane with your oils, magnums, and a box of rubber bands.
Back when my wife was selling BeautiControl, she got a sample of a warming shave cream. I don't know what was in it, but sure enough as you rub it on your face, the it really warms up, feels pretty good, shaved decent enough. Never noticed any reaction to whatever it is in there that warms it up
I performed the "reverse M-bomb" this morning. In place of M-bomb I used 3 drops of a warming oil instead on my VDH deluxe. Wow, wow, wow. I loved it. The oil was water/glycerin based and didn't seem to affect my lather at all. I have been addicted to all things menthol but I was guessing I'm not too sensitive to menthol. I can barley feel Skin Bracer and Osage Rub has a nice little bit of a chill to me. Looks like I will now be experimenting in the other direction. I really enjoyed the heat and thanks to Steve Mack for the idea.
I wonder if you could do a fire and ice lather; that is, a couple drops of warming oil AND a couple drops of M-Bomb.
The oil I used was KY brand self warming oil. The ingredients where: Propylene Glycol, Polyethylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Hydroxypropylcellulose. Body Massage Oil- Isopropyl Myristate, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Laureth-4, Bht, Fragrance. Now I know nothing of chemistry so I don't know what ingredient does what, I just get a kick of the idea of Sesame Seed in my "personal products"
