Very cool razor. I know in years past shavettes were included so this one works. I'm looking forward to reading your shave reports.
Here's the entire SE collection thus far. Razors towards the left are what will most likely be used during SEptember. But the rest are great shavers and may end up calling my name, we shall see. The Pal Adjustable coming in the pass around will take precedence for the first week or so, depending on how quickly it arrives.
I have enough SR experience that I'd like to shave with it. What I don't have is proper hones or experience setting a bevel on a frame back. After attempting a touch up with my Barbers hone I set this one aside. The blade looks like it might be replaceable but it's well secured to the spine. I've not found information suggesting there were replacement blades or that like a shavette they could be swapped out.
I'll have to think about this one. I had been using injectors exclusively but with a nick/cut every time I used one of them. So I went back to DE's and haven't a problem since. Yup, gotta think about it
You have a real problem there Bob one I am working on replicating. One day I hope. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm on that path! I haven't used a DE since early April. I've had really terrific shaves since then on the whole, and have been very lucky to try the Bunny, a Schick Adjustable, a PAL Injectomatic, the Schick H, and now a PAL Adjustable all on pass-arounds. I've had a lot of fun trying out all of those SE incarnations!
As I have only had 2 DE shaves in August so far, I plan to continue that way in SEptember. I have more, but the three SE razors I keep coming back to are: Schick N3 British made Ever-Ready 1912 with a 100mm stainless steel handle The Bunny V3 of course!
I have picked out six razors that I will be using during the month. I made a razor stand from mahogany that will hold seven razors, and I will be using it to keep the razors straight. I will use them in order and then start over. Since there are six, I will be using each razor five times during the month. From left to right: Bunny V-3 injector, Schick L-1 injector, my Dad's Schick E-3 injector, Schick C-3 Bar Guard Repeating Razor , GEM 1912, and GEM G-Bar.
I'll join in, but just for a week. I'll start with my Saturday str8, then the next six days days with an SE safety razor, another Saturday str8, my usual Sunday SE, then back to my usual routine. Should be fun. I haven't done an SE theme week in a few years.
Well, as long as we're all okay with me using my straight razors on the weekends and my Gem SEs and Schick and PAL injectors on the weekdays, I'm in!
A few laps on the crox and 60 or so on the strop and I believe this baby is ready to shave Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
