It uses half DE blades... So I will be with you guys, in spirit anyhow! Great thread idea! Hope you're doing better and have a great SEptember!
I'm going to be putting all of my SE razors in head to head competition to determine my best razor. I'll be using one razor for my left side and one for my right switching sides for the next shave. The winner moves on to face the next challenger. In the end I'll be putting one SE razor against one injector razor for the ultimate SE showdown. I'll be using my Schick E3, PAL adjustable, PAL InjectoMatic, GEM 1912, GEM MMOC and Ever-Ready 1924. It's going to be a fun month.
I have not seen anyone do a slant month thread in the past. You could always be the one to start one and see how it goes.
Question for all you SE razor users, except injector. Are Pace SE razor blades good enough for shaving? I'd like to try my Gem razors soon.
Here is a thread that mentioned them. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/single-edge-blades-seems-like-a-very-good-price.27869/
Depends on how much you like your face. Pace blades are made by Dorco. I haven't personally tried them, but every single review I have read has been highly negative. Since wet shavers as a group rarely agree on anything I avoid them like the plague and would recommend that you do the same. Get yourself some Gem stainless steel ptfe blades. Your face will thank you. --Bob
Ok after much deliberation, I have settled on part of my SEptember. Week one will start with the original SE safety razor style. A wedge blade paired with my Rapide. I will also be breaking in my new brush. The handle is from @douglas Cary paired with a Finest 2 band. Week 2 will be one of my SE's. I am leaning towards my 1914 as I have the least amount of time on this one. Week 3 will be one of my favorite injectors. The Schick F. Week 4 is still to be decided.
