I just finished taking my Rolls blade to the lapping film and got it nice and sharp, I will strop it out tomorrow (outside of the system as I am still working on the clean up job) so it should be good for the SEptember lineup as well! Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
What progression on the film? Getting started soon with my two Rolls blades. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
12 micron to set the bevel, then 5, 3, 1to refine the edge. All with one layer of tape on the spine. Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
One thing to note, it takes a lot of work on the 5 after the 12. I need to get some 9 to use between them Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
Thanks. I have a 9 micron sheet. There's an eBay seller who packages 12, 9, 3, 1, and .3 sheets for $24. The 5 I scored elsewhere. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I started off SEptember with my Gem OCMM, loaded with a Gem Personna blade. With a Semogue boar brush, Stirling glacial lemon chill and two passes, I had a close and smooth shave. No weepers and no nicks! I'm ready to face the day!
SOTD September 1, 2016 Blade: GEM Stainless Razor: GEM Featherweight Brush: Artisan badger Lather: Stirling Barbershop Post: Witch hazel splash, Mennen Skin Bracer, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up I'm beginning SEptember with my GEM Featherweight. For me it's a smooth, smooth razor. It is quite mild, but I enjoy that as it glides right through the lather with consistent results. Nice shave today with no nicks or weepers. Skin Bracer is a great complement to Stirling Barbershop with all the powdery notes. I like Skin Bracer a lot! I like Stirling Barbershop a lot, too! This was a great way to kick off this month. Hope you all have a great day!
September 1, 2016 Cobra Classic Feather Pro (1) Brothers Bristles with Sunrise Synthetic Mystic Water Eucalyptus & Spearmint Witch Hazel Fine L’Orange Noir I started of SEptember 2016 with the Cobra Classic loaded with a new Feather Pro. The Brothers Bristles brush made by our own @Tdmsu whipped up the Mystic Water soap into a wonderful slick lather. With a slick lather and new blade, I decided to go with a 2 pass shave, ATG & XTG, followed by some minor touch ups ended in a wonderful near perfect shave. A splash of Fine L'Orange Noir and I am ready for the day. What a great start to the SEptember 2016. I hope everyone has a fantastic Thursday.

SEptember 1st Schick G1 Chick (3) Dr Jon's Hydra Satin Tip The Purest Lime AS & Nivea Sensitive ASB On my first shave of SEptember I decided to use my very first SE Injector, the venerable Schick G1. Ans as I completed my first pass I thought to myself, "Man, why don't I use these more often". The first pass with the G1 had more reduction then two passes with a DE. I could have stopped at the second pass with a very nice DFS. The third pass reeled in the baby. The alum was silent and my homemade lime AS paired perfectly with Dr Jon's Hydra. A little Nivea to make things silky smooth and my face is feeling great this morning. I am really looking forward to a month of awesome SE shaves! Have a great day my friends!

Nice thread @clint64 I'm in! I'll mostly be using GEMs and will limit myself to just three or four razors to get a good feel for each. My first shave of SE SEptember and I’m starting with what I believe is a 1912 Gem Junior that I found for $5 a year ago at a local antique shop. I expect to have a week of shaves with it. 2-pass shave (WTG, ATG) GEM PFTE blade. Oh my, talk about feedback! The jazz band leader had everyone take five while the bass man took over on this one. It's like the individual plucking on the strings - bong, bong, bong - as each whisker is sent into orbit. Yet with a sharp blade it's a smooth experience. With the right angle it is an enjoyable shave and close as well. It will take time to get the blade angle exactly right in order to perform ATG on my chin, but using an exaggerated “ride the cap” in that area may be the ticket. I’ll enjoy experimenting with this one. Cheers! RT
