What shave cream would you recommend for someone who still prefers using canned foam? I am trying to get my brother to switch from canned foam to using a better cream. He says it takes to much time and is not worth it. So I want to give him a cream that he can use with a brush or just use with his hands. I was thinking of Speick or something like that...any suggestion?

Real Shaving Company, at Rite-Aid drug stores.

    Good, cheap, easy to use.

If you're in the United States, I'd vote for Kiss My Face. It's quick, effective, inexpensive, and the scents are great.

use a brushless cream like creamo cream, the real shaving company(both of which are available at drugstores), or nancyboy is a good brushless cream.
If he doesn't like them, you can have them to yourself.

Sounds like he won't take the time or effort to use a brush.

good luck, and tell him if he doesn't like the ones you suggest after a week of use, you'll buy him a can of his choice.

I agree entirely. Works great, and if they aren't ready for a brush, it can be applied by hand also.

JayKay 3000 posts and all I got was this lousy title

Anthony Logistics is one of the best brushless creams out there. From what I've been told, it also lathers nicely with a brush.

Kiss My Face and Real Shaving Company creams are easy to find, cheap, and good. You can just wet your beard and then rub these creams into your face to build a bit of lather. Works great.

Of course, works even better with a brush! ;)

Bath and Body carries the Poraso Green. It is labeled CE Biglow, however, if you read the fine print it is made for them by Poraso.

Great stuff even brushless and very refreshing.

Also Kiss My Face and Toms of Mane at Whole Foods C. O. Bigelow (Proraso) at Bath and Body Works, the Body Shop cream, and Crabtree and Evelyn creams are easy to run out and buy and very good stuff. Just shop at what is near you that way it wont be a hassle. Get the Best Badger Brush if you make it to Crabtree and Evelyn ($35) trust me on this.

  10. Hiya,

As Superbleu mentioned, both Cremo and Nancy Boy get very good reviews for brushless products. In the past, I've given some cans of Proraso to friends, and it was supposed to be good stuff. Can't say from personal experience, but it looks like an interesting foamy kinda thing. Heh, available in two flavors.

    Here's a link and a pic: Oh........it's not inexpensive.

All good ideas so far. Also Alba can be found at a lot of whole foods stores like Sprouts or Trader Joes (I think TJ's has their own store brand shave cream too). Anyway I've never used these; just seen reviews that are positive so thought I'd throw it out there as a suggestion. This whole thread is now filled with ideas better than canned foam.

Brush or no brush, The Real Shaving Company and Kiss My Face creams work great. The Reals Shaving Company also makes a clear shaving gel that is decent. I've also heard good things about Cremo.

Is the Real Shaving Company shave cream available in Northeastern Florida?

If you have a Rite-Aid pharmacy nearby, they should have it. My local Rite-Aid has two flavors of RSC: Sensitive Skincare, and Moisturizing. I've reviewed the Sensitive and think highly of it. I haven't tried the Moisturizing yet.

Nivea lather cream would be a pretty good choice as well.
