Gentlemen, Introducing my humble shave den from India, with a distinctly "India" scent to it. I am more of a shaving cream guy thanks to the abundence of wonderful creams like Godrej, Palmolive, Old Spice and many many more along with the trust worthy Godrej Shave Round.. You are all going to envy the "Free" word on most of the products
Ohhh...VERY nice! How are those Godrej rounds, anyway? I've not tried the cream (yet) but I've heard good things.
Thanks !! The Shave round is very basic, very old school scent and does the job well. The shave creams are more moisturizing and in a class of its own. All Indian creams lather quite a lot, Jeff's reviews on TSD will tell you that. I have a review of the shave round at B&B.
Thats good to know about the Round. I picked some up yesterday but hadn't tried it yet. I like the scent quite a bit- although the color threw me off a little!
Very nice shave den! I don't recognize Cinthol and the shape of the package is unusual. What is Cinthol?
^Cinthol is one of the premium Godrej brands for bathing soaps, Talcum powder. These modern day Cinthols are in Musk, Sports and Classic Eau De Cologne scents and stay long with you in to the day after a shower. The packing is a glossy plastic coated paper wrap around the bar of soap. The original Cinthol is almost as old as Godrej with a very unique, spicy fragrance. Been that way since my grandfather's time. I have been thinking for the better part of my life why Godrej did not ever use the Cinthol brand for its range of Men's product including the shaving cream.
Namaste. "humble" did you write "humble"???thats a GREAT shave den my friend!Theres an important hindu community here in the Canary Islands and sometimes they carry Old Spice on their stores.I have the Fresh Lime shaving cream and its a nice cream.I wanna try Godrej and Palmolive too.How is it to find a Parker razor there?I have red that there are not widely available there as they suppose to be.
Yes ! I dont get the Parkers in Mumbai. I was once on tour in a small town in the North and got one which looks so similar to what I see advertised as an 84R. Its an OK shaver, but has impressive looks and handle with the word "Parker" embossed on the head.
I also seem to remember another shaving cream from India called Premium, as well as another cream from there called Scentinal. Are these creams still around?
I don't recall seeing premium these days, though I still see "premium" synthetic brushes. There were quite a few - Wilman, Denim, 7 O'Clock Ejtek and some others around...
Tabac! My dad got that but someone bought it from him.I think it was Joanna. His was in a bowl and it was glass. It had a very apealing scent.I really don't know why he didn't want it.I think it was because it smelled like baby rash cream. :signs097
Yeaahhhh....can't imagine any tallow based products coming out of India. Or lard, for that matter. But then, are there any tallow based creams?
Indian shaving creams are absolutely wonderful--so much rich lather, with attractive scents, and excellent skincare. Your neighbor, Pakistan, unfortunately is way behind in quality creams.
