Figured out how to get my Arko into a empty deodorant dispenser. Jim aka @Jayaruh is known for this trick.
Cut the stick into 5 pieces and used a double boiler technique to soften the stick and stuffed into the container.
Next will print Arko label as not to use as underarm deodorant. :think002:
Guess one could microwave it slightly to soften it but it just seemed wrong.
Thought of grating it but seems like some mild heating is required to combine all the shreddings into a cohesive unit.

I've done the same thing with Brut. I've also added a matching Brut round deodorant dispenser for my travel brush. Take out the bottom platform and leave the ring and you brush can adjust as needed.

I just wish I liked Brut, so I could have a trio.

Certainly! Being Maggards there is no lack of goodies to choose from, and at reasonable prices may I add. :)

An old Pritt Stick, paper glue container might work? They look very similar to those Maggard containers. I make my own kitchen refuse bags from old newspaper, rather than using plastic bags; I'll try and put in a soap stick when the glue runs out.

Be careful putting the soap in the microwave unless it's "melt and pour". You'll ruin a tallow soap melting it that way. I tried stuffing a puck of soap into a deodorant container, too much work!:) On the few occasions I use my Arko in stick form I just slip it into an old pill bottle for transport. Works GREAT and it's free!!:)

I have a Col. Conk Lime that I put in a old deodorant container. I don't use shave sticks very often, but it may help to get a better lather. Its worth a shot.

I got around to making some self adhesive labels this morning to stick on my newly formed shaving stick container.

My microwave burned the soap, leaving an acrid Palmolive stench hanging around the kitchen for 12 hrs.

Now I'm really glad that I did not use the microwave and instead went with my low heat double boiler method.

If anyone wants to try this, I've collected and cleaned 3 or 4 containers I won't be using. Just shoot me a PM with an address.

Here is mine. I just used the sticker off of the Arko puck container. I hated the size of it and finally just made it into a shave stick.

This is exactly what I have done.

Soak the tube in hot water and clean the excess glue.
I cut off a chunk of MWF from the puck, put it into a small plastic bag and placed on a warm radiator for 5 -10 mins to let it soften slightly.
Roll it into a tube shape and press it into the glue container.

Let it cool to harden. Job done.

    Perfect for travelling.
