    Hi Guys

Now that the mail strike is over here (Canada) my Gibbs razor showed up and yes, it takes proprietary blades but I felt I could change the shape of a blade to work. I used a Feather and trimmed the ends to fit between the end posts on the head. Then I just eyeballed the blade exposure and tightened 'er up. Started to shave (carefully) but realized I was getting a really good shave with no nicks, weepers etc. Wow. It's a keeper. An early adjustable (I set mine on N, for normal, I assume) that without proprietary blades might've been some serious competition to the other mfg'ers.

Did you use a pair of snips on only one end or on both?

    Cool!

It doesn't look like you had to take that much off of the blade. I don't suppose you could post a pic with the modified blade next to an unmodified blade so we can see how much you had to chop off?

    Thanx guys

I trimmed a bit off each end. You want to take from both ends because you're trying to keep it centered on the post. Did I measure...no. But it was about a 32nd off each end. It took about 20 seconds and works. If you have a Gibbs try it out, it is a good shaver.
