I dont know if this question should reside here, but it is an aftershave process. Does anyone use Shea Butter after their shave. I saw someone post that they use it for razorburn. Would this go on before or after an aftershave. I bought some today and find it pretty thick, but it doesnt have a scent. Just want to get some opinions.
I use shea butter after shaving, but more often in the winter. It is very healing. Check out my review here: Chic Afrique
After. It can be thick, and is easier to apply to a semi-wet face...... so my process would go as follows (after "the" shave): 1) warm water, to clear soap/cream remnants 2) cold water 3) witch hazel 4) aftershave splash 5) cold water (after #4 has settled) 6) immediately then apply shea butter + whatever aftershave balm or moisturizer is appropriate
Shea Butter for me is VERY sticky / tacky. Not that thats a bad thing, but.... I use it before beddy-bye and I hate getting goop all over me pillah. So. I put the SB on 1st and then splash on some alcohol based AfterShave. This cuts the stickyness down and keeps me happy.
I use SB on various occasions: 1) nearly every night before bed as a moisturizer 2) after ASL and ASB if it was a particularly bad shave 3) non shave-related: whenever I have a sunburn, rough skin etc...
Without getting into all the marketing hype, shea butter is an excellent moisturizer and skin healing product.
