I picked this one up after reading some reviews here and across the street. I was -at one time- prepared to spend about $50-80 for a badger. Well, not prepared, but kind of resigned to the idea of spending more on a badger shave brush than I would spend on my razor. So once I saw this, I decided to give it a try. In fact, I was suprised that there was not a review of it in the review section on ShaveDen already. Since my only experience before was with cheap boar brushes, this is really a treat. But factor that in to my enthusiasm for this brush. People call it "scritchy". I don't feel that way. Maybe that is because they are all used to softer brushes. I think it feels great - very soft and smooth. People say it holds too much water, or not enough. I think it works great. Just shake out the excess, and add a little at a time if you need to. People say it is floppy. I see that it is softer than my boar brushes, but applying the rich lather is a breeze. It does not seem "floppy" to me. People say that it doesnt lather on shave soap. I beg to differ. People say it is light and not balanced. I think the handle is a very ergonomic shape and has a heft to it that again speaks quality. People say that it is low quality knot and sheds. I have lost 3 hairs so far. Maybe, if that accelerates, it will look pretty sad in a year or so. But for $8.99, I can buy a new one every year for 6-10 years -And I don't think that it will continue to shed -so not a problem. So... for me this is a deluxe brush at a bargain basement price. Really glad I stumbled across this! Highly recommended. Two thumbs up!
