This brush has a long history......It was my first real brush....aboyna wood(sp?) custom brush with silvertip 24mm knot. Unfortunately the maker didnt set the knot deep enough which resulted in an extremely floppy brush....almost to the point where I couldnt use it. I posted on the bst and 2 sales fell through. Well, I knew our own Rodd has dabled in re-knotting brushes so I asked him and the original maker for suggestions. The maker didnt want to touch it b/c the burl wood but Rodd was up for the challenge Here is the before pic: Its hard to tell but the loft is high but the knot is not dense at all. The new and improved brush is a 22mm finest set deeper into the brush to create a denser yet shorter loft which is perfect for face lathering with soap Not as soft as the silvertips but still soft but firm knot. It is also perfect for lathering into smaller soaps such as Tabac, Pre De Provence, melt and pours, etc. This has only been used once and of course improves with time Hands down phenomenal job my Rodd:happy096 He new this might be a tricky project b/c the odd special wood but he took the challenge and succeeded! My hats off to Rodd :1respect:1respect:1respect:1respect BTW: I cant figure out to erase the fuzzy top photo
Very nice indeed, Congrats Shawn! That handle is sweet and Rodd did a great job of stuffing that knot in there
