I popped into my local Big Lots the other day, in search of some plastic storage tubs, and decided to see what they had in the way of off-brand personal hygiene products. One shelf was bursting with two-packs of soap from a company called Venezia Soapworks. I did some online research with my phone and found mixed reviews, but was most intrigued by the fact that the stuff is made very close to where I live in Los Angeles, by a company called Shugar Soapworks. It's likely Venezia is their discount store branding for stock that doesn't sell; the bars of soap inside have "Shugar Soapworks" stamped into them. Anway, the bars were big (7 oz. each) and the price of $2.50 for the two-pack was too good to pass up, so I took home the oatmeal version and have been enjoying it for the past few weeks. The scent is very pleasant, it cleans my sweaty carcass like soap should and it finishes nicely—not too drying—with a light oatmeal scent left over. I'm going back for more before they sell out. Worth checking out if you see it...I read online that the stuff can also be found in 99 Cents Only stores. http://shugarsoapworks.com/
Just picked up the honey-almond version of this soap and it's really nice. The scent doesn't hang around quite as long as the oatmeal, but it's still a very nice soap. Also just picked up some Yardley vanilla sugar soap and have used that a couple times. Wasn't sure if I'd be into the scent, but it's nice. Great soaps all around.
