So... what can people tell me about them? I know they were made in St. Louis, which is cool to me. And it looks like they had a bit of variety among them. Thanks,
Here is a Dedicated Thread to Shumate Razors in the Straight Razor Place.. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...FMNcsbHIYdVOtQLKg&sig2=gu_vAWSco5SxhKCaCxpqeA Billy..
I've a few, and they are all very good razors. I guess I will have to break them out for a shave now.
i have a shumate 256 and it`s as good as any of my U.S straights. thats means a superb shaver was going to get seven from each country that made high quality razors, but have ten U.S by now and still bidding like them a lot.
It's good to know St. Louis made good steal. Will have to keep my eye out. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
And Texas Keep an eye out for the TX made Shumate's they were not made for very long so there are fewer out there
Shumate is one of the brands I have wanted for a while now. For me, the fun is in taking an old blade and bringing it back. I have yet to find one "in the wild" with which to do that. But I'm always looking, and one day.....
Don't know what you mean by in the wild but I've seen a few on eBay at under $30 price tags. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Local antiques stores, flea markets, etc. I don't do ebay. If I did, I'd be out on the street already.
