I have been purchasing vintage Techs, and have noticed a couple have slack head to handle fitting, that there is play due to wear on the threads, they tighten up just fine though.

Is this usual for Techs, have I bought lemons that are about to fail, is there a fix or would a replacement handle work.

    Thanks

There isn't a long term fix. You can use Teflon plumber's tape to tighten up the fit, though it needs to be replaced often.

Razor emporium sells a modern replacement "old type" handle that will also work on techs and other vintage three piece Gillette razors.

Italian Barber also sells inexpensive Gillette compatible stainless steel handles in a variety of shapes, styles and weights. My personal preference is for the Barber Pole and Bulldog versions.

Comes from people who thought the handle to head had to be gorilla tight.
    Ryan @PLANofMAN is spot on.

No. But if you are talking about up and down slop, vs left and right slop, you can use small rubber o-rings or nylon washers to make that fit better, and that fix is a permanent one.
