I shaved with my brand new (to me) slim adjustable aristocrat today and boy am I hooked. This is the best razor I have shaved with. Just awesome. After a hot shower and a soaking of my two days unshaven beard with my wife's hair conditioner (something called "Humectant" or something like that) I made a nice bowl full of lather with ToBS Avacado cream (awesome cream by the way). Lathered up my face and put a brand new Personna lab blue blade into the slim. I dialed the slim to 4 and started with the WTG pass. After this pass, I had surprisingly little stubble left. This lab blue blade is REALLY sharp. I couldn't feel the blade cutting though the sound was pretty satisfying. I left the slim at 4 for the XTG and ATG passes. I was able to complete the passes quickly and ended up with BBS above the chin and DFS under the chin. The application of WH, usually accompanied by some wailing and gnashing of teeth, caused surprisingly little burn. (I actually like the burn though, oh well). I used Aqua Velva Ice Blue for the first time ever. Quite brisk, it made up for the lack of burn from the WH. What an awesome shaving experience. I can't believe how well this razor shaved. It seems that Gillette perfected shaving in the early '60's and I guess it's been all downhill from there. I can't wait to start messing with the adjustments, try some different blades with it. (I don't think I'm cut out for this 30 day thing.) I love my slim adjustable and I heartily recommend it to anyone. What a fantastic razor, what a fantastic shave. Now all I need to find is a fat boy. (Never though I would write that sentence.) My baby
I also have a slim aristocrat. It's just a slim but it is cool to have it in gold. It's too bad they didn't change the knurling for the slim aristocrat as they had for the gold fatboy.
