since wet shaving i found my skin stays smoother longer. trouble is i look forward to shaving every day now but i dont know whether i should shave every other day as the brisles are so short. any advice please.
That really depends upon you. I am of the mind that if you are able to shave daily, without skin irritation, you should because it will prevent other possible shaving issues such as ingrown hairs. Some people prefer to wait for that second day to do some serious stubble mowing. Again that is all up to you.
I tend to shave every other day. I just find for me that shaving everyday is unnecessary because there will hardly be enough stubble to shave, and that I seem to get irritation when I shave everyday. I wish I could but I guess time will tell.
I shave every day. If you are not having trouble with irritation and feel like shaving every day the go for it.
I've heard some people actually shave twice-a-day(morning and evening). It's about how much if any irritation you get when you shave rather than beard length. If your face isn't being hurt/irritated by daily shaving then definitely shave everyday. I usually shave 3-4 time a week(mon, wed, fri, & sometimes one day on the weekend) although I have shaved daily with no ill results. As long as is doesn't hurt go for it..
You may find that with experience and practice, a daily shave is totally possible. At first I was 48 hour intervals, but as I got better, everyday became my norm.
You could always split the difference and go to 36 hr interval. That throws some evening shaves into the mix, which is a nice way to end a day. I sometimes shave twice a day, but it's not necessary for me unless I have an event that evening. I read that Richard Nixon shaved as many as 3-4 times a day...
Flaxton, As the others above have said, it's entirely your choice. If you can shave every day without irritation and you enjoy it, then go ahead. I personally shave once a day on workdays, twice a day otherwise. That's only since I returned to DE shaving and learned how to do it properly (still learning). Regular wet shaving can sort out a lot of skin/beard problems, such as ingrowing hairs, and encourages stronger beard growth. I find it fun and it's the closest we come to male pampering (can I say that?). Regards, Chris
Welcome to the Den. As so many said above, It's your choice how often to shave. I personally enjoy my morning shave and look forward to that baby' butt feel (so does the wife) That 10 - 15 minutes in the morning is my me time. Happiness is a great shave, Denis
i am shaving everyday now. my skin does not feel sore like it used to do when i used multi bladed razors and shaving goo.
The best thing I did was to dispense with aerosol shaving gunk, it dries the skin and the foam disappears in no time. I've never experienced better lather than from proper shaving soaps/creams and a brush, still learning how build lather properly though. Glad you're having better shaving experiences. Regards, Chris
