Good morning to everyone.

After a relaxing weekend of good food, fun and excellent weather, I kicked off my personal shave week with this Monday’s shave, or as Jody put it very accurately, with this particular Moment of Zen this morning:


Calani Lavender shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre
’56 Gillette Red Tip Super Speed
Gillette 7 o’clock Sharp Edge blade (new)
D.R. Harris Bay Rum after shave

This was a very enjoyable shave. The Calani Lavender, although not my personal favourite in terms of scent, did make for one excellent lather and the 3-day stubble did not put up much of a resistance when it encountered the sharp edge of this Gillette 7 o’clock yellow blade. And I just love the spiced scent of Harris’ Bay Rum. Nice to start the day in such fashion.

A nice early moring shave before heading to the airport. Three pass, plus a little touchup on the jawline...DFS. Since I got up early I had the bathroom to myself, very enjoyable, with just a bit of menthol.

The forest is gone. You know it's bad when the cat comes and repeatedly touches your legs with his paw pads ....

I was planning on returning to work today but after the Orange Juice Spewing Incident of 2012, I'm going to take another day and rest. I'm pretty sure I pulled a hamstring with said Incident.

The good news? I had a fantastic shave, this blade performs so well I didn't have to go over any area twice.

I hate rushing a shave at any time, especially a Menthol Monday Shave, but I woke up late so I had to step in the shower for 2 minutes, then do just a quick 1 pass N-S shave. I did the best I could, but I'm far from being BBS. The Proraso Green soap and I are friends again and I enjoyed the little time we had together this morning. The Visal gel is a hell of a face-freezer which also gives great soothing. Now, it's off to the office.

I tried shave #4 with the Voskhod and The Hammer but it seems 3 times really is the charm.It was a lil rough going but I still managed a BBS in 2 passes on my face,WTG,ATG,and 1 pass ATG on my head.The Rub felt really good today

I watched the Johnny Cash movie "Walk the Line" yesterday and after seeing a Gillette Red Tip Razor on the sink in one of the scenes I am in a definite retro mood today....so with said mood I tried to keep todays shave as 50's as possible. I was totally born in the wrong generation....I was meant to be a greaser. I would have used Williams Soap but due to the Burma's reputation I made sure I went with a soap that was much easier to lather! All I know is...I found another reknot in order!

This Sputnik blade continues to get better. This shave ranked as high as any other I've had. No tugging at all, no irritation at all, and a a super close shave. I think the eShave products have helped. I'm very impressed with this stuff. The last thing I need is more shaving soaps or creams, but I'm mighty tempted to buy some of eShave cream, and perhaps some of their ASB as well. Great stuff!
