  1. Friday

    Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Gentleman
    Soap: Stirling Agar
    Razor: Vintage Gillette Slim
    Blade: Vintage Gillette Platinum-Plus (14)
Brush: Whipped Dog Tall Amber Silvertip-24mmx52mm
    Aftershave: Stirling Agar

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Stirling Agar today. 20 seconds to load the Whipped Dog Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette Platinum-Plus still in the Gillette Slim. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Stirling Agar aftershave.

  2. So, I used the brush, razor, aftershave and scuttle from the Travel Box 2019 for this mornings shave.
I will save the video for now, since we have something going on across the street.
This boar brush is breaking in nicely, and still has lots of backbone, I'm impressed by it. I was expecting the Star razor to shave similar to a Gem Damanskee, and while they are close, I prefer the star! (Now another rabbit hole for me to explore. )
The Arko aftershave gel was exactly what I was hoping it would be, no big surprise, and the scent is very pleasing, though not long lasting .
All in all great shave this morning. Will is at least one other thing from the travel Box, then start working on collectingsome samples to try down the line!
    Shave on!

  7. DA861921-4CEC-4CE7-A164-CBF2224B9806.jpeg On we roll on the road of Aristocrats and this one comes courtesy of a No. 58 set. This particular razor has been referred to as an Aristocrat Junior in print ads of the era though at 71 grams, I don’t know just how “Junior” this guy is. Love the knurling pattern on this and it is quite distinctive. There is a “II” stamped into the underside of the blade tray and the corresponding red leatherette case has the red retaining band that appeared around 1956. Thanks @brit for your insight!

Soap of the day was RazoRock Plaque Doctor and quite a good soap it is. Scent is a nice blend of herbs and flowers with some musk. I can pick out lavender and violet and the matching AS knocks it out of the park.

Brush today was the Simpson Special 1 in Best Badger. This brush is affordable and has a very comfortable 40mm loft and 19mm knot. Lathers nicely and a 30 second load got me enough lather for three easy passes.

Lovely three pass shave with a touch up (just because I was just enjoying the scent) and BBS achieved. Well on with the day and on to the weekend! Happy shaves all!!

  14. I think we've somewhat puzzled out the Red/Green dichotomy. Vintage Special Reserve is green, Reformulated is red. Testing may happen for a couple Scientist that are currently in possession of one of each color. Check HERE for details.

No nuke plants near me. I am just 15 feet above sea level on the Gulf Coast and in the heart of the Oil Patch so contamination is a possibility. More likely the product I purchased had been sitting on the store shelf pretending to be fresh. And yes, I'm among the Chosen!

No ordering for me. Several stores keep them in stock if not rotated for freshness. Note they have been properly decanted into glass bottles.
