Saturday 04/06 Boy is this soap really not meant for shaving. I decided to give it a go eventhough I knew already from previous use and then from going and doing a proper research, that it is really bad. 1st and 2nd use whipped up a lather that would dissipate really quick. 3rd pass was something not that bad, rubbing the soap directly onto the face. It dissipated fast though, but much more slicker. The alum block really kicked me in the although no nicks. Will have to really bring it out once in every blue moon, and just for the sake of the scent. Razor, PAL adjustable Blade, Schich injector blade from China, 8th use I believe? Arko Adjustable April April 6 Razor - 1972 (S2) Gillette Super Adjustable (Black Beauty) (9) Blade - (3) Soap - Arko Brush - Jayaruh #312 Post - Alum This was almost a no-shave night but I decided to go for it. Saturday is going to be my busiest day in this new venture, but I cut it short tonight as I was still doing some research and trying to develop my full strategy. I did some runs today that I've never tried on Saturdays before since I was tied down to a "real job". I obtained some good data and I'm figuring that Saturdays will start later in the day than the rest of the days I'm working, but will definitely last much, much longer. So, Saturday no-shave may become a thing. For tonight, however, the third shave with the Black Beauty and Rapira PL is in the books. The JR312 with the fake horse knot is such a beauty and so great to use. It handled the Arko like they were made for each other. I actually lost track of passes. I did two, perhaps three. Or was it a longer first pass followed by a second. Whatever the situation I'm sitting with a very nice DFS and I'm a happy camper. I guess the "Zen" of the shave hit me tonight. Hope you have a marvelous Sunday! For the record, Sunday and Monday are my planned "weekend" at this point. One of the best things about this whole thing, though? Flexibility. I'm liking it.

SOTD: Today was the last shave for a while with the reitzer, that stuff is absolutely world class, I'd go as far as to call it the South African Arko because of the incredible value for money. Next shave will be with that USA made superspeed my dad was using and the 14th use on the feather!!!!!! I'll be switching out the reitzer for the col Conk lime too. Razor: Jagen David E01 Blade: feather hi-stainless (13) Soap: reitzers perfect shave. Aftershave: Dave's menthol aftershave. Sent from my Redmi S2 using Tapatalk

Nice! I also tend to use blades for as long as possible. Most blades i use average around 15 shaves, but the really sharp ones like the feathers i can use for up to double. Sent from my Redmi S2 using Tapatalk

One of the best shaves I've ever had. Man, I love this set now. The soap's residual slickness and protection is as good any most other shave soap's full-on lather, so it makes clean up so effective. I can use my off-hand to re-smooth lather with a few drips of water and the residual just seems to stretch out more with good protection. The CK6 shaving soap is the best shaving soap I've ever used. I just keep getting better using it and it has so much depth and can dial in so many options for slickness and protection that I find ways to improve my shave with this soap that cannot be duplicated with any other soap. I credit the shave to my vast improved skill with the PAA Ascension and the CK6 shave soap.

SE Sunday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Almalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap Jayaruh #340 Badger J.A. Henckels Henckels wedge CWR Lucky Tiger My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Almalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #340 Badger brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels Lather Catcher razor with a Henckels wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Sunday’s SOTD: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Wilkinson Long Handle/Wilkinson day 4 Bundubeard Rooibos SS Dave’s Homemade ASB Hega ASB Bleu de Chanel EdT I can’t believe how great this Wilkinson razor is - it gives me such fantastic shaves. I had a nice shower first and then I had fabulous lather from Jaco’s Rooibos soap with that beautiful scent. The balm that my good friend Dave makes is so moisturizing as well as gentle on the skin and the Hega aftershave from Sweden has a very neutral scent with a really comfortable feeling. This shave was a two pass BBS work of art! Have a great Sunday!
